To utilize the natural assets of an area, community or region and responsibly leverage those assets to create or facilitate meaningful experience-driven communities that celebrate outdoor activities as part of their daily lives.
STRATEGY
To responsibly accelerate the outdoor recreation movement in rural communities as a form of economic development focusing on infrastructure, workforce, education, and health & wellness.
Through working with stakeholders ranging from municipalities, private businesses, individuals, non-profits, land trusts, and others, outdoor recreation has the potential to create a sustainable, organic economy, even in small rural towns, and entice those that are interested in experience-driven lifestyles to make their dream a practical reality.
OBJECTIVES
Develop coalition of outdoor businesses in New Hampshire as a trade group to unify the voice and create power in numbers.
Promote Northern Forest region as a place where one can live, work, and play - and prosper.
Provide legal services to stakeholders to entice, attract, or assist in developing a robust economy centered around outdoor recreation.
Act as a "change agent” by moving from community to community to tackle issues related to human capital which may be an obstacle for project implementation.
Create a “pay to play” mechanism from a state taxing perspective that can act as a funding source for outdoor organizations and reduce the burdens place on the non-profit industry.
Educate decision-makers and local residents on the social and communal benefits of outdoor recreation.
Rethink trails & tourism, particularly access points such as trailheads, to diffuse issues related to over-use & crowding.
Provide outdoor activity enhancement services for private corporations to facilitate workforce attraction.
